Research from car insurance provider esure has shown how motor insurance claims are rife in this current bad weather. Their study reveals that while many motorists will pull a “sickie” if they believe the roads are too dangerous to drive on, many accidents happen right on the motorists’ doorsteps.

14% of Britain’s drivers state that they have collided with a neighbour’s parked car before even leaving their road, due to skidding on ice. Shockingly, 24% of those questioned said that they wouldn’t report an accident immediately to the damaged vehicles owner, and just leave a note on the windscreen.

A shocking one in ten motorists said they had driven away after a collision, pretending not to have noticed!
